Lolë Love

We all have our favorite brands and products we always lean on...that comfy shoe or fashion line that never can do us wrong. Over the past year, I've grown to love all things . From their obviously beautiful apparel to their evident passion for "living out loud everyday," Lole captures the true spirit of every woman. I don't have a ton of their clothes, but what I do have I treasure and flaunt way more than I should. This weekend I wore Lole everyday and after seeing this short film on the making of "Under An Eternal Sky," I knew I had to share; as it gives you a glimpse of who a Lole lady is and the energy behind this leading company.

So how are you living out loud everyday?
Make sure you check back on Lole's blog next week for the release of "Under an Eternal Sky."

Sportswear as Everyday Wear

Hey there! I want to say thank you for all the positive feedback from my last sportswear to everyday wear post. I have been thinking about how to better incorporate my career and love for an active lifestyle into my blog for a while... and you all reassured me that I was on track. So on with more of these posts!

One staple for any runner to have is plenty of half zips. In the winter time they are usually complemented with a waterproof jacket and/or a nice warm base layer. For causal wear, I like to pair them with a cardigan or jacket. And if you score a half zip with thumb holes, you can ditch the gloves on a sunny winter day! Bonus!

Cardigan: J.Crew
Half Zip: Asics
Cords: J.Crew

This weekend was perfect to explore our wonderful city, grab some Rowster Coffee beans, and antique shop way more than expected. If you follow me on Twitter, you might have seen our manly workbench bar that we scored. I can't wait for our dining room to be complete so I can share photos of it with you all!

So who is going to bust out their half zips and mix them with a casual outfit?

Sportswear as Everyday Wear

Working in the running industry, you're bound to acquire a closet full of sports clothes.
Since I work in an office, I have to dress more on the business causal side, so those piles of sports wear items don't see the work week very often. This past weekend all I wanted to wear was comfy sports clothes, but not look like a college bum or Sporty Spice. I think mixing sports wear with your everyday wear is often overlooked...so my new goal is to incorporate both pieces together more often.

Pairing any sporty tee or long sleeve under a jacket instantly makes the outfit look less athletic. Running shoes don't always have to be worn with sweat pants...dark jeans flatter them as well! Adding my Nike GPS Sportswatch was a no brainier...I'm in love with the chunky, sleek look of it and how it goes surprisingly well with a lot of pieces. I donned a bit of vintage with my handmade key necklace and called it good.

Jacket: Forever21 from Rock, Paper, Scissors
Long Sleeve: Icebreaker
Necklace: Handmade
Jeans: !IT Jeans

Do you wear your sports clothes out and about...
or are they just reserved for bumming around the house and exercising?

Weekend Adventures - New Years Eve Glitz

Happy New Year!!!
With 2012 finally here, I'm looking forward to all the plans Zach and I have talked about doing this year.
I still haven't sat down and wrote out my resolutions, but a few things are for sure:
- I want to train for a half marathon this summer
- Attempt to start on the renovations for our kitchen
- Take several long weekends to travel & camp with Zach
- Continue on our journey of eating/living a healthy lifestyle

To kick off the new year right, the glitter & sequins came out...

Since I don't get dolled up that often, I had fun putting together this outfit.  I was pretty excited when Anjolee Jewelers sent over this stunning Eternally Yours Eternity Band just in time for the holidays. It was the perfect accessory to my glitzy outfit. What I love about this band is how versatile it is. Anjolee has a huge variety of diamond bridal set and wedding sets, but this ring definitely doesn't have to be used as a traditional wedding band or diamond anniversary ring. I adore fashion rings that can be stacked and worn with a variety of other rings, so immediately I knew my thin silver rings would go perfectly stacked with the Eternity Band. To top it off, this ring almost matches my own wedding band, so I can easily add this piece for a stack-able wedding set of my own!

I usually try to be pretty simple in my jewelry and outfits, but couldn't help myself once I had my sequin top on... I finally backed down and told myself I had to take out the three inch sparkly dangling earrings and put more simple studs in. I probably would have put glitter all over my eyes and face if Zach hadn't had said I already had enough makeup on. Oh well, there is always Halloween! :)

Guest Post - Fair Isle Love

Hi lovelies! Laura from You Stir Me here, and I am so stinking excited to be hanging out on With a Heart Full of Daisies today! Kate has created such a lovely space here, hasn't she? I'll do my best to clean up the place before I leave. Today I thought I'd share with you my favorite style fix this season: Fair Isle.
 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8
I can't get enough of the gorgeous patterns popping up in sweaters, dresses, scarfs, mittens, and tights lately! One of my goals in life is to learn how to knit and since I've been seeing this beautiful knitting pattern everywhere, that goal has now been bumped up the list. The Fair Isle patterns are so cozy for the blistery weather this time of year ( I live in the Northeast) and make me want to curl up by the fire with a rich cup of hot cocoa. Do you love this trend as much as I do? I think it's one of the best wintry fashion statements around and I'll be sporting my Fair Isle sweater for years to come!

Packing for the Holiday Weekend

Hello all, I'm Mae. I'm 1/2 of the photo-duo Bryan and Mae. I was excited when Kate asked me to share a post with you all this week. We met Kate over two years ago when she and Zach were planning their wedding and we were honored to photograph their day for them. We've been friends since and now we're neighbors, so that's pretty awesome.

I've been spending much of this week prepping to be out of town this weekend for Christmas. Baking, crafting, wrapping my little creations for friends and family...so fun! Bryan (my husband) and I are excited to spend a long weekend with both of our families, stuffing ourselves full of good food and staying up late reveling in the season. I wanted to share with you today two outfits I'm taking on our holiday travels, each filled with staples that can be mixed in a million combinations (okay, that's an exaggeration). I'm a relatively simple girl (though I do love my red lipstick and a really good chai latte with soy), so if I can create multiple outfits with minimal clothing, I am happy. I'm also a cheap girl, so again, multiple outfits with minimal pieces makes me smile from ear to ear.

My go-to outfit is typically pants or a flowy skirt, a v-neck and a cardigan. For this weekend, I'm mixing it up with a denim button-down and a chunky sweater, both of which are perfect for drinking tea and eating my mom's sugar cookies while curling up on the couch.

1. chunky sweater, thrifted
2. glasses
3. necklace, a gift (from Kate Lainey!)
4. denim button-down, Forever 21
5. charcoal chinos, Target
6. moleskin notebook
7. No One Writes To The Colonel, short story collection to read over the weekend
8. flannel duck boots
9. warm & cozy socks

Not only will I spend my weekend relaxing, but we've also got some great holiday parties to attend. To add a bit of festive cheer to my wardrobe, I recently purchased a sequin skirt. If you know me, this may come as a shock. Sequins are not something that fits into my daily wardrobe but hey, that's the fun of them! I'm excited to pair the sparkle with a cotton v-neck, tights and my trusty ole-loafers for a bit of casual glam. Oh right, and there will also be a cardigan. There is always a cardigan.
1. grey v-neck t-shirt
2. arrowhead necklace
3. brown braided belt
4. black 3/4 sleeve cardigan, thrifted
5. bronze sequin skirt, Forever 21
6. black opaque tights
7. brown loafers, Modcloth
8. brown purse
9. glasses

So there you have it-- all the clothes that I will be wearing this weekend. If you see me, you now know what to expect.

Hope that you all have a wonderful weekend celebrating Christmas with friends and family! Be sure to take the time to slow down and just soak in the goodness of this lovely season.

Thanks, Kate for having me over to your blog!

Guest Post - Sidewalk Ready

I am thrilled to be filling in on Heart Full of Daisies while Kate is away! I met Kate over a year ago through blogging and have been friends ever since. It's easy to see why - we have so much in common! We both live in Grand Rapids, had our weddings at the same venue, both just bought new homes, and both love blogging!

I love reading Heart Full of Daisies. Kate's blog is so inspirational - from her recipes, to house decor posts, to outfit posts, she pretty much covers it all ... but you already knew that! What you don't know is who I am.
Hi! I'm Kayley from Sidewalk Ready.

As I said before, I am from Grand Rapids, MI ... and winter dressing is a major challenge here with all the snow and freezing temps. After my first winter of blogging, I soon realized that layering can go oh-so right, and also oh-so wrong. Here are several of my favorite layered looks from last winter. *Please keep in mind that any of these outfits shown without a coat, are normally worn outdoors with a coat. I just ditched it for photo purposes.*

Examples of layering over dresses:

With pants:

If you would like to see more photos of any of the above outfits, just click the picture and it will you direct you to the original blog post over on Sidewalk Ready!

Thanks, Kate, for asking me to guest post - and thanks to you for reading! Stop by Sidewalk Ready anytime and say "Hi!".

It's Raining

It's raining...
The random tapping of droplets has an immediate soothing effect.
It's odd how comforting rain is while you are inside, but makes you regret it as soon as you step outside.
At the moment I'm wishing it was this past Sunday so I could be outside enjoying the weather and wearing this outfit again. But since it's Tuesday, I'll settle for joining some good friends for a drink downtown.
Nothing like good conversation and a local brew to make up for a cold, wet day.

How to do you escape dreary, cold, wet days?

If you haven't already, make sure to check out the Pillows by Dezign giveaway I'm hosting!
Only one more day to enter to win!

Fallen Leaves

After this weekend, I'm quickly reminded why November is my favorite month...aside from getting together with family for Thanksgiving and it being my birthday month, the fall season in general is seriously amazing.
For example, being able to run in a t-shirt and shorts in November = Awesome.
And so is hanging out in my favorite Urban Outfitters hoodie without a jacket on a beautiful sunny day.
I know that sooner or later the snow will come, but for now, I'll take the fallen leaves.

Hoodie: Urban Outfitters,  Long Sleeve: Target,
Jeans: Levi's,  Boots: One Girls Treasure (Steve Madden's),
Socks: Smartwool, Earrings: Gift

Weekend Adventures - Gull Meadow Farms

Glorious autumn weather and apple picking are perfect together.
Sunday we headed down to Gull Meadow Farms, for Miss Natalie's first birthday!
We had a awesome time apple picking and watching our niece, nephew, and their friends run around Pumpkin Lane.  I'd have never been apple picking before, but soon learned that I shouldn't eat every good apple I found! Truly think we should make this a yearly tradition.

So now that we have a 1/2 bushel of apples...what to do with them?
Zach think's he'll be able to eat them all right away... I told him I'll start looking for some recipes.
I want to try something other than the ordinary apple pie or crisp. Suggestions?

Hope your week is going well! I've been busy with a few big projects here. I am really excited to share with you all some of my plans and thoughts that I've been throwing around my head for some time.
Stay tune!
