I don't think I can express how much I truly enjoy the overall concept and nature of a Farmer's Market.
This is what I take away every time I venture into this lovely place...
The hustle of anxious customers as they peer into each booth; price checking and analyzing the produce.
The smells emitting from the entire area. It's a combination of fresh earth, baked goods, coffee, and herbs that are bound to entrigue any hungry soul.
The beautiful people of all shapes, sizes, and colors. They are united in their search for the wonderous bounty awaiting them at the market.
The sound of chitter chatter. Children begging for more blueberries, old friends greeting on another, and the farmers calling out prices to eager customers.
This is also what I took away from my last excursion...
Don't they look yummy?!
I've been having fun taking pictures and practicing with my new camera.
Love how this camera makes everything so much more tangible.
And more delicious looking!
So, what is your favorite Farmer's Market find?
I'd have to say raspberries hold a special place in my heart.
Back home in Illinois we used to have huge raspberry patch where people would come out and U-pick. Unfortunately they caught a bad blight and we had to mow them down.
So when I got this pint of raspberries home, I did my duty and ate the whole thing...
and no I did not share. :)

Oooo! Did you get these goodies from the Fulton Street Farmer's Market? I had never gone to it, and I went there the other day only to find out that it wasn't a day for produce, but for merchandise instead. I was quite sad and am still wondering how it is. Worth going to?
ReplyDeleteLooove Farmers Markets! It's been so fun to go to them here in Virginia; there's so much more growing here than in Illinois! Your photos are beautiful & your blog is inspiring. :)
ReplyDeleteI think one of my favorite things about markets is how early they start and the smell and feel of walking up and down cobblestone streets at dawn to snatch up some goodies. :) I'm quite obsessed with my personal FM which is open 6 days a week! Simply splendid.
ReplyDeleteYour photos are amazing! I think you found the perfect spot to take them too - your pantry right? Your personal little photo studio ready at a moments notice.
ReplyDeleteYum! Those all look so delicious! I've recently discovered the wonders of farmer's markets, and it's amazing. There's one in my area on Thursday evenings that's basically a combination of street fair and farmer's market... definitely the best way to spend the evening after a long day at work
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos...my fave find is the fresh broccoli and raspberries...my kids love that they have fresh fried mini donuts!!
